Effective Monday, July 31, 2017 our hours of operation are changing to 7am to 3:30pm to accommodate early morning collections and to allow for specimen processing on tests going out to our reference laboratories.
Medical Arts Laboratory was recently surveyed for certification by the Wyoming Department of Health. Our lab passed with no deficiencies! Congratulations to our whole staff on a job well done.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulates all laboratory testing (except research) performed on humans in the U.S. through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). In total, CLIA covers approximately 225,000 laboratory entities. The Division of Laboratory Services, within the Survey and Certification Group, under the Office of Clinical Standards and Quality (OCSQ) has the responsibility for implementing the CLIA Program.
The objective of the CLIA program is to ensure quality laboratory testing. Although all clinical laboratories must be properly certified to receive Medicare or Medicaid payments, CLIA has no direct Medicare or Medicaid program responsibilities.

Medical Review Officers are responsible for the critical task of determining the validity of drug test results. MROs play a fundamental role in fulfilling the constitutional requirements of the Fourth Amendment for government mandated drug testing. MROs balance the protected rights of the tested individual and the compelling concerns for health and safety in the workplace and for drug deterrence.
The American Association of Medical Review Officers (AAMRO) is a medical society dedicated to establishing national standards and certification of medical practitioners and other professionals in the field of drug and alcohol testing.
Dr. James J. Naramore, MD is a certified member in good standing in the AAMRO Registry of Certified Medical Review Officers. Dr. Naramore provides medical oversight for all medico-legal testing procedures for our laboratory. He is available for consultation with companies requiring federally regulated drug screening.
